Hi, I was found in a ditch after being hit by a car. I'm all healed up, thanks to a wonderful lady who took me to the vet and got me all better. I am now learning some basic commands, such as, sit, stay and come. I am a energetic little guy who is having fun playing with both big and small dogs here at The Downtown Dog & Cat but I would love to find a forever home. Q is for quills from the porcupine....and wow, am I glad to have them out of me! I'm a wonderful little boy who is not fast enough to stay away from the spiny creatures. I'm about a year old. I'm good with other dogs and kids. I was found running around with the quills and I was pretty skinny. Don't worry, New Hope is going to fatten me up! Oh yeah, I'm missing an eye....but I only need one eye to be your best friend!

Hi, I'm Chopper! I'm a sweet girl who loves to cuddle with my people. I especially like to burrow under the covers and turn upside down and make them laugh when I get a chance! The other thing I love is when I get to go on long walks or runs. I'll bet I could even pull a sled if
you hitched me up!! I'm also a good jumper. This means I could probably get over a fence, so a good place for me would have lots of land. Do you have a ranch or farm where I could run and maybe work? I'm really smart and learn fast. I do best with adults and other dogs. Not sure about cats. Just let these great folks know and I might just lick your face when we meet!

Hi and woof to you! Radar here. I am all guy! I am going on two years old and having the time of my life. I'm learning lots right now about playing easy and what rules and boundaries are. I'm a good listener and once you explain it to me, I usually get it. Did someone say "Squirrel"? I already go potty outside, walk on my leash, and cuddle now & then. I love my crate, although I need LOTS of play and exercise since I'm a growing boy. Well, I'm already kind of grown - I'm 21in. at the shoulder and weigh 52lbs. I am happy and good-natured. I'm the very picture of my long, ever-wagging tail!! Won't you make my life complete and become my best friend?

My name is Kenny , I am a three legged gorgeous boy. I am about 3 years old and I'm neutered and up to date on my shots. I am very athletic and can keep up with anything you throw at me. That means balls , sticks etc . I love to chew on bones and play in the yard. I will get along with any other dogs. I am house trained, leash trained. I will sit , lie down , stay and roll over. I am very good about coming when you call and love it when you whistle or snap your fingers . I am crate trained as well. My favorite thing
in the am is to get up . pee then poop, eat then get in the car and go to work . I love car rides! I weigh about 45 pounds and am solid as a rock. I would prefer to be with one owner because then I know exactly who my master is. I'm very loyal and don't
require a leash to stay close. I want to find a home where I can become part of a family . I love to play with other dogs and kids as well. I like a yard and the ability to have a lot of company. I don't want to be crated all day.

Hi, my name is Jack (although my foster mom calls me Jackie), how I ended up in a shelter is beyond me! I love everyone, love to give kisses and hugs. I run around outside and play with the other dogs and never get mad. I'm potty trained, I come when you call me (right away too), I sit and lay down and when you ask me to stop doing something I listen. I'm a bit curious about the cats but I really just like to smell them. I'm a bit nervous and don't like yelling much, I go hide in the corner, but with lots of love I'm just the sweetest guy! I would love a home with someone mild tempered and would love to spend time cuddling with me! I'll follow you everywhere and be your best friend forever!

Hi, I'm Stormy. My name is pretty accurate as to how my previous life was....I am a true rescue dog. Before I came to New Hope, I lived on a chain. I had three litters of puppies...the last one being with my son, who was also on a chain. I don't know where my babies are but I pray they are all ok. My eye recently had to be removed because my less than wonderful previous owner thought that peroxide would help when it was a little red. I am healing well and I will be good as new with just one eye. I am a very sweet girl who needs a loving, patient home. My foster Mom calls me a love bug because I just soak up love like a sponge. Because I was so neglected in the past, I do get a little confrontational if another dog tries to get near my food or sometimes my human. We are working on this behavior and it will probably go away once I realize that I am safe and loved and have nothing to worry about. I currently live with 2 dogs and several cats and I fit in well. At first I chased the kitties but now I realize they are part of my family. I love nothing more than cuddling up on the couch next to my human for a good nap or tummy rub. I am still getting used to other dogs outside of my household and I get a little nervous at dog parks, so I haven’t been to the park when there were dogs I don’t know there. We are working on that though. Someday I will be a well-socialized, mellow girl. I just need to learn to trust humans and the world. Can you help me out with that?

I've tried this shelter thing and I have to say that the people are nice and they are taking care of me but these other little dogs around me are driving me nuts! Hey world I am Belle of the Ball and I just discovered that there is no little kid here to throw me a ball.... I have been looking for my very own little boy or girl who would like to play ball and want to cuddle..... If you don't tell anyone I will sneak into your bed and share your pillow... we could have sweet dreams together. In the daytime you would not even know that I was here because I look like your shadow. Wherever you go I am there. I am very sweet and mellow, except when I am playing fetch, then I am very serious! I do ok with a few dogs at a time, but I get nervous when around alot of dogs at once. I can run like a greyhound and would probably make a fantastic mountain biking partner.

Daisy is a 20 month old spayed female (approximately 40 lbs) with all her shots. Typical of her breed, Daisy is highly intelligent, loyal, loving, protective of her home and her humans, and leary of strangers. Daisy has a strong prey instinct and therefore should not be with small animals of any kind. Daisy is bored and desperately in need of a job that will occupy her mind. Daisy seems to prefer being an "only child" and would do best in a home where it is her and her humans.

The nice gals from New Hope came and saved me from being made to have lots of liters of puppies. I am done with that now and ready to be the apple of someone's eye. I am a great girl, super sweet, snuggly, and very smart. I love to play with other dogs, big and small, and even love kids. However, please no kitty cats, they are just too tempting.
